All-Russian Exhibition Centre
All-Russian Exhibition Centre
The All-Russia Exhibition Center is located in Moscow and was originally known as the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy. Opened in June 1959, the exhibition area spans 137,000 square meters, capable of accommodating up to one million people simultaneously on its 300-hectare grounds, which house a total of 80 exhibition halls. It combines scientific, educational, and entertainment elements, making it an ideal destination for expanding knowledge and horizons. The main entrance is grand and majestic, topped with a sculpture of male and female collective farmers holding sheaves of wheat, a masterpiece in world sculpture history. Directly opposite is the Science Hall, where various science popularization experiments are still preserved, allowing visitors to participate personally.
Constructed in 1939, the venue opened as the Soviet Union's Exhibition of National Economic Achievements. Spanning 238.6 hectares, it had 68 exhibition halls, among which only about a dozen were actually used for exhibition purposes. The All-Russia Exhibition Center is not only the oldest and largest exhibition center in Moscow but also in Russia, featuring over 250 magnificent and exquisite buildings of various styles, as well as pleasant parks, unique fountains, and ponds. Prior to World War II, it served as the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition.
In May 1958, the exhibition was integrated into a comprehensive display of agriculture, industry, and technology, and was renamed the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy. On June 23, 1992, it was renamed again to the "All-Russia Exhibition Center." Since the 1990s, it has gradually evolved into a modern logistics center. Many foreign companies and Russian domestic enterprises lease shops here to sell household appliances, electronic products, daily necessities, clothing, shoes, hats, and other items.
