Eindhoven is a city full of innovation and the fourth largest industrial city in the Netherlands, as well as one of the four major high-tech clusters in Europe. Eindhoven was granted city rights by Duke Henry I of Brabant in 1232, and after 1900, it developed from a small village into one of the largest industrial centers in the Netherlands.
Located in the south of the Netherlands, the city of Eindhoven is one of the leading technology centers in Europe. Situated in a strategic location within the long-standing technological center of Western Europe, Eindhoven is the fifth largest city in the Netherlands and ranks first in the field of science and technology. For over a century, it has been the base for Philips' electronic research and development facilities. Thanks to its advantageous geographical position at the heart of Europe's technology center, Eindhoven has established close ties with multinational corporations such as Philips and DSM, which place great emphasis on modern information and communication technologies. Additionally, the Dutch car manufacturer DAF also has a factory in Eindhoven.
