The Damascus International Fairgrounds, located near the airport expressway in the southern part of the capital, is the oldest and largest multi-purpose exhibition and convention facility in the Middle East. With approximately 83,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and about 150,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition areas, it has been in continuous operation since the inception of its fair in 1954—though it was temporarily suspended from 2012 to 2017 due to the prevailing circumstances.
As Syria’s most advanced exhibition and convention venue, the Damascus International Fairgrounds also features landscaped grounds, storage facilities, a media center, and other supporting amenities, along with approximately 49 permanent exhibition halls. The organizer is a member of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), the Arab Union of International Exhibitions and Conferences (AUIEC), and the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
