Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Sands
Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore is one of the largest and most versatile venues in Asia, featuring exhibition halls and a convention center. It boasts over 120,000 square meters of meeting space.
The Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre officially opened in 2010 at Marina Bay, Singapore's integrated resort. It is known as one of the world's most expensive standalone casino properties valued at $8 billion, which includes a hotel with 2561 rooms. Its total area is 120,000 square meters (1,300,000 square feet), with 74,000 square meters (800,000 square feet) dedicated to the Marina Bay Sands mall, museum, two large theaters, celebrity chef restaurants, two floating crystal pavilions, an ice-skating rink, and the world's largest casino with 500 gaming tables and 1600 slot machines. The project involved Arup Parsons Brinkerhoff (MEP), with main contractors being Ssangyong Engineering & Construction. Originally scheduled to open in 2009, delays were caused by escalating material costs and labor shortages faced by Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Additionally, the global financial crisis forced the company to delay its projects elsewhere in completing the integrated resort.
Scheduled to open in 2010, Marina Bay Sands combines conference and exhibition facilities, luxury hotels, entertainment, museums, theaters, international dining, and retail. Currently under construction, the Sands SkyPark will be located atop three 55-story Sands hotels, suspended 200 meters above ground. Upon completion, the Sands SkyPark will be the largest rooftop garden in Asia, with a total length of 340 meters, surpassing the height of the Eiffel Tower.
