The Global AI for Good Summit in Geneva, Switzerland is the United Nations' flagship platform that drives action to leverage artificial intelligence for health, climate, gender, inclusive prosperity, sustainable infrastructure, and other global development priorities. The AI for Good initiative is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN agency responsible for information and communication technologies, in collaboration with 40 sister agencies of the United Nations, and convened in partnership with the Swiss government.

As generative AI technologies like ChatGPT rapidly advance, how to use and regulate AI more efficiently has become one of the core issues of concern in the global tech community. The Global AI for Good Summit in Geneva, Switzerland was first held in 2017 and is a leading, action-oriented, globally inclusive UN event. This summit is part of the 'AI for Good' project. 'AI for Good' aims to identify practical applications of AI, expand the global impact of AI solutions, and accelerate the achievement of the United Nations' sustainable development goals. The 'AI for Good' platform operates year-round on an online platform, focusing on three main themes: learning (Learn), development (Build), and connection (Connect).

The summit covers all aspects of AI, including: the role of AI in sustainability, AI ethics and fairness, AI applications and innovations in environmental protection, AI applications and potential in medical diagnosis, drug development, and public health, AI applications in education and intelligent transportation, inclusiveness of AI technology dissemination, regulatory policies and governance frameworks for AI, etc.

At the summit, participants recognized the potential of AI technology to promote inclusive growth, create job opportunities, and enhance social well-being, as well as its ability to boost educational levels, healthcare access, and agricultural production efficiency. Experts also called for enhanced international cooperation, through policy and regulation, to guide AI development and ensure transparency and ethicality in technology.
